JNU Delegation Participating in Conference held in Minia University, Egypt

From Nov. 3 to 5, a delegation from Jinan University consisting of Prof. Chen Weiming, Dean of the College of Liberal Arts, Prof. Shao Yi, Vice Chair of the Chinese Language Department and Mr. Li Lijia, Deputy Director of the International Affairs Office visited Minia University, Egypt and attended the conference co-organized by Minia University, Jinan University and Hildesheim University entitled Cultural Dialogue Communication Channels Among Nations. Prof. Chen and Prof. Shao submitted a paper Language Fossil and Cultural Philological Studies to the conference. The delegation also participated in the cultural events as a part of the conference and made an exhibition on Jinan University.

During the visit, Prof. Chen met with Prof. Amal Moustafa Kamal, Deputy Director of the Suzan Mubarak Center for Art and Culture of the university and presented to her the Chinese textbooks and books on traditional Chinese culture compiled by Jinan University as a support to the Chinese Department which will be founded by Minia University soon.

The cooperation relationship between Jinan University and Minia University was established in 2005. Last month, Prof. Jia Yimin, Vice president of JNU just visited Minia and discussed on future collaboration. This co-orgnized conference between the two sides further promoted the relationship of the two universities.
