The activity was hosted jointly by the SYSU Youth League Committee, the Graduate school, the party and administration office of the east campus as well as the back office and undertaken by doctoral Student Union. Taking root on the east campus and growing up with the east campus, these green plants carry our commemoration of Mr. Sun Yat-sen who dedicated himself to cultivating people and signifies the expectation of a better tomorrow of SYSU Students. The tree-planting activity not only reflects an inheritance of SYSU campus construction culture but also conveys blessings for the successful Guangzhou Asian Games in 2010.

SYSU Doctoral forest tree-planting activity integrates the idea of carrying on the fine traditions of SYSU with the sense of environmental protection into practice - planting trees every year, which allows the doctoral students to learn more about the university s tradition. Moreover, the activity helps promote communications in and around the university and further enhance the sense of social responsibility as well as environmental protection. In November of this year, part of the competition events will be held at Guangzhou Higher Education Mega. Thus, this tree-planting activity will contribute a sheet of new green around the Asian Games Stadiums.
