2011 SJTU Graduate Commencement Held on Minhang Campus

On the afternoon of March 26, the 2011 SJTU Graduate Commencement was held at the New Gymnasium on Minhang Campus. 3,066 graduate students embarked on their new journey with all the best wishes from their alma mater. Present at the graduate commencement were Secretary Ma Dexiu of the SJTU CPC Committee, SJTU President Zhang Jie, and other school leaders, deans and supervisors. The commencement was hosted by Xu Fei, Vice Secretary of the SJTU CPC Committee.

President Zhang Jie made a speech and extended best wishes to the graduates on behalf of SJTU. Gratitude, responsibility, passion and dream are the central idea of his speech. President Zhang Jie wished that graduate students would not only be grateful and responsible but have passion and dreams.

Among graduates of the year 2011, 51 have been chosen to work in the central and western and northeastern regions and remote areas; 19 were involved in the Military Reinforcement Project and five have succeeded in starting their own business.

Cheerful music played, graduates went onto the podium where Ma Dexiu, Zhang Jie and other school leaders and supervisors shook hands with them, turned their tassels, granted them diplomas with the group photo taken.
