Klopman International is delighted to congratulate the students of Team FORMTECH, from the University of Art and Design Helsinki, who have recently been announced winners of the prestigious 2008 Lindström Award.
Co-sponsored by Klopman International – Europe’s leading manufacturer of polyester/cotton and cotton fabrics for the image workwear, protectivewear and casual apparel markets – the Lindström Award is a unique corporate clothing design competition based on a real, rather than fictional, requirement, the brief for the 2008.
Award being to design and create a collection of garments for personnel at Toyota. Auto Finland’s after-sales unit. Specifically designed to stimulate and encourage the interest of future design professionals and increase their awareness of the important role corporate clothing has to play in establishing and projecting an organisation’s corporate image, the Award is competed for by students from leading universities across Europe.
As co-sponsor Klopman supplied the students with advice and guidance on fabric suitability, as well as an extensive range of specialised fabrics and supporting materials needed to make up the prototypes of the submitted designs. In addition to the main award, a further special award has also been made by Klopman.
The Klopman International Award for the best use of fabric went to the Hungarian Team FD-TD from the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design (MOME) who clearly demonstrated their recognition of the vital importance of choice of fabric in terms of ensuring that garments provide the best possible image, protection, comfort and allround performance.
