Fur-Free Friday, the nearly 20-year-old grassroots event, will bring a large group of animal activists to Beverly Hills to spread the message that people should not wear or buy fur.
Demonstrators will march and chant to convey this message during "the busiest shopping day of the year." The march will include a visit to Neiman Marcus, one of the country's largest luxury retailers of fur garments.
Protesters will carry posters and banners through the streets of Beverly Hills and educate the public with anti-fur brochures. LCA's Animal News Van will accompany marchers while showing educational footage on video screens promoting cruelty-free fashion and educating fur retailers and consumers about the horrors of the fur trade.
Fur-Free Friday was organized originally in 1986 by grassroots activists; this holiday march has grown to be one of the most widely attended annual demonstrations of the animal rights movement. LCA spearheads the Los Angeles march.
Demonstrators are available for interviews during the march.
