Vietnam is likely to earn 4.3 billion U.S. dollars from exporting garments and textiles to the United States this year, up 26.5 percent compared to last year, local media reported Monday.
It will be the highest-ever growth rate, the Youth newspaper quoted the American Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam as saying.
The chamber also forecast that Vietnam would gain 10 billion U.S. dollars from exporting different kinds of goods to the U.S. market in 2007, up 3.1 percent over 2006.
Vietnam, targeting total garment export turnovers of 7.5 billion dollars this year, reaped 6.4 billion dollars from exporting garments and textiles in the first 10 months, according to the Vietnam Textile and Apparel Association.
