With more and more people taking a proactive stance on the environment, the “Green Movement” is blossoming. And while everyone doesn’t have the means to donate their time or money to environmental agencies, people can still do their part with the products they choose to buy.
Major retailers and manufacturers are taking a stand on pollution and the effects chemicals have on the environment. Bagir Ltd, an innovative manufacturer of men’s and women’s tailored clothing joins these ranks with the next generation of the machine wash/tumble dry tailored clothing. This new collection will be featured under the EcoGIR label.
The EcoGIR collection is unique in that the composition of the suit is constructed out of Post Consumer Waste (PCW). Apparel made from PCW saves energy consumption, reduces carbon footprints by reducing CO2 emissions, and helps divert waste from landfills.
The fact that consumers can wash the clothing at home also eliminates the use of toxins and harsh chemicals utilized at regular dry cleaners 40% of energy consumption is saved when the water temperature is reduced 10% in the washing machine cycle.
Osnat Feingold, Bagir's Marketing Communications Manager: "It was through Bagir’s initiative, strict testing and creativity that reached the environmental goal standards."
"A number of issues had to be addressed to assure that those goals were met. To that end, the company designed the EcoGir Hybrid and EcoGir Recycled collection of tailored clothing that would respond to ETA standards and provide consumers with up to date styling. Our EcoGir Organic line also has a suits made from 100% Organic cotton, bamboo internals and is crafted from renewable sources"
