Female Artists Association of Nigeria (FAAN), celebrated its 7th anniversary and it also held an exhibition in Lagos showcasing its yearly national art.
The event titled ‘Echoes of Experience’ was held at National Arts Theatre in Lagos and displayed about 70 artworks by 55 female artists. The art was presented included textiles, craft, jewelry, sculpture, paintings, drawings, and ceramics.
Among these were the works of Chief Afi Ekong, the Yoruba Women and Bridal Veil. While the former is a depiction of womenfolk in blouse and wraps, the latter admires the beauty of waterfalls.
The exhibition was essentially jubilation for women who made earnest efforts to acquire standards of quality and global recognition. Besides, it was also a motion to honor lady Afi, who made endless contributions for the development of the nation through her artworks.
