When you're invited to a party to celebrate the 'golden age of couture' you can't turn up in just any old thing.
Unless it's vintage, of course.
In her classic gold satin gown with a 3ft train, Kate Moss was a picture of old fashioned glamour as she arrived at the Victoria and Albert museum in London last night.
After a strained moment when a fellow partygoer stood on her train, Miss Moss glided into the exhibition of couture pieces from Paris and London in the decade from 1947.
While some of fashion's most lavish materials were on show inside the museum, there was plenty to look at outside as well.
In a silver Dolce and Gabbana gown, 33-year-old Jemima Khan looked down in horror as one of the padlocks on her metallic belt came undone as she arrived.
Thankfully, Emma Thompson was on standby.

The actress, who wanted to know who had the key, refastened the lock before the pair hugged and walked into the exhibition.
Lady Helen Taylor opted for a demure, off the shoulder evening dress in midnight blue.
Other celebrity guests included Sophie Dahl, Twiggy, Liz Hurley, Thandi Newton, Quentin Tarantino, Mario Testino and Alex Curran.
The exhibition at the museum in South Kensington opens on Saturday. It celebrates Dior's launch of the "New Look" for his first collection in 1947, which delighted the fashion world with its full skirts and hour-glass silhouettes.
Dior's stunning gowns are on display alongside those of Balenciaga, Norman Hartnell, Balmain and Givenchy.
