Over 300 entertainers, models, plus makeup, hair, lights, sound and backstage teams are rehearsing to bring the first ever New Zealand entertainment event to the newly opened Vector Arena in downtown Auckland.
The Westfield Style Pasifika Fashion Awards will showcase the vibrancy of Pacific New Zealand in a one off extravaganza this Friday September 7.
“It is especially satisfying that these Fashion Awards, celebrating fantastic New Zealand talent and our cultural melting pot have become the first New Zealand produced entertainment show at Vector Arena,” said Producer Stan Wolfgram who is visionary behind Westfield Style Pasifika the largest and most innovative indigenous fashion show of its type in the world.
“We are ready to put on the show of our life by taking Westfield Style Pasifika to the bigger landscape of the Vector Arena and give it another dimension.”
They are certainly in fine company after recent performances by such international acts stage acts as Gwen Stefani, The Cure and Bob Dylan at the new venue.
“Not only do we have all the catwalk glamour of fantastic fashion design, we also have top New Zealand bands and performers appearing, so I can certainly say that we intend to rock the Arena!”
While the performers and models are rehearsing, the hundred finalists selected from the record number of entries from throughout New Zealand, the Pacific and Australia are nervously awaiting the results of the Fashion Awards this Friday.
