Fort Lewis College Athletic Director, Kent Stanley, announced earlier today that the Skyhawks signed a three-year deal with adidas and Sports Authority to become the Skyhawks’ first-ever licensing partners.
“It’s a great opportunity for Fort Lewis and the Skyhawks to lead the way in the RMAC,” said Stanley. “The agreement encompasses every Skyhawk team and gives us more value to the money we spend.”
With the agreement Fort Lewis becomes the first college in the RMAC with a departmental licensing agreement.
Beginning this fall, the Skyhawks can be seen wearing exclusively adidas footwear and by 2009 the Skyhawks will be equipped with adidas uniforms, accessories and practice attire, from head to toe. The agreement includes discounts for all 10 Skyhawk athletic teams on apparel and footwear, additional resources for the Skyhawk athletic department and is valued at nearly $25,000 annually.
Skyhawk Basketball alum and FLC Hall of Famer, Jeff Cremers, who works in the Sports Authority team sales division in Denver, was an intricate part of this agreement and will be the Skyhawks liaison with adidas.
“I have some great memories from my time spent at Fort Lewis College and athletics played a very big part,” said Cremers.
“This deal will take Fort Lewis athletics to a different level. The athletic programs already enjoy great success on the field and an apparel deal will elevate the Fort Lewis “look” to that of sevaeral Division I programs.
