As the world of fashion prepares to focus its attention on the West Coast, the CMC gears up for an electrifying LA Fashion Market from October 26-30 filled with runway shows, parties, promotions, designer appearances and thousands of new apparel, accessories and lifestyle collections.
Key trends for Spring 2008 will be revealed in an exclusive four-day runway show program featuring notable collections by Bianca Nero, Yana K, Plastic Island, and a special showcase by Directives West buying office.
The runway shows kick-off at 9:00 AM Friday, October 26th with Directives West’s presentation of "Time To Shine California", a contemporary/better fashion show highlighting collections from a number of select vendors in the California Market Center's Courtyard. Later that evening, Bianca Nero's new Spring collection debuts on the runway at 6:30 PM, following a cocktail reception that begins at 6:00 PM.
Yana K is the featured designer on Saturday, October 27, with “Retro Ready” beginning at 7:00 PM. Yana K’s show will feature a special live performance by Kelis in the CMC’s Main Lobby. Plastic Island caps off the week on Monday, October 29 at 6:00 PM with a Courtyard show that reveals their Spring aesthetic for contemporary women's wear. Cocktail parties begin one hour prior to each evening show unless otherwise noted.
“We look forward to building onto this year's high energy with another great Market," said Joanne Lee, Vice President of CMC Services. "The response was incredibly positive for our March runway shows and this October, attendees can expect even more."
Additionally, buyers looking for product at the 3-million square foot marketplace will find a myriad of lines debuting their new Spring designs in showrooms throughout the building. Also featured at the CMC are Brighte by ENK, showcasing temporary exhibitors for contemporary women's apparel, and TRANSIT L.A. Shoe and Accessories Show.
