To help the inquisitiveness of the entrepreneurs pertaining to this sector, Business Co-ordination House (BCH) is organizing a two day Training Workshop on Automotive Textiles to be held on 15 & 16 November, 2007 in New Delhi.
The industry interests for the automotive textile sector have been shooting up further with the influence of the fact that India is one of the world's largest growing markets for automobiles.
On a basis of 1.2 million cars manufactured in 2006-07, car production in the country is expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of around 19.7%, thus, jumping to a close to 3 million units by 2012. Needless to mention, the export scenario for cars is also expected to see an upsurge growing at a CAGR of 31%.
Further, there are immense opportunities for the OEM suppliers to directly export the automotive textile components overseas owing to the geographical and cost advantages that India can offer.
Realizing the rapid shift in industry trends and demands, the training workshop has been planned to offer a common platform for the correct knowledge exchange for harvesting fruitful benefits.
Textiles in automotives constitute approximately 20-25 kgs, which are not only used to improve aesthetics but also to incorporate sensual comfort & safety. Woven, knitted and nonwoven constructed products find extensive applications in automotives in vast extended product assortment viz. interior trims, safety devices like seat belts and airbags, carpets, filters, battery separators, hood liners, hoses & belt reinforcement.
The workshop aims at providing a good mix of practical and theoretical knowledge to the delegates, which will enable them to have an insight about variety of products and applications, their manufacturing technologies and specific fabric structures.
