Italy : Govt aims to promote trade relationship with Pakistan

Italian Consul General in Karachi, Mr Domenico Benecasa, expressed the country’s desire to encourage trade and economic ties with Pakistan.
During a seminar on Italian Technology in Pakistan, Mr Benecasa reiterated the policy and further stated that with regard to Pakistan, Italy has been providing ample business opportunities as well as discussions on technical issues that are integral for the textile industry.
Italy seeks to help Pakistan develop its textile sector which seriously required an increasing amount of value added products to compete with international rivals.
There is no doubt about the fact that the textile sector forms an important part of Pakistan’s economy and that the Government needed to give it adequate attention. The seminar was basically a follow up of the visit paid by an Italian expert in March.
