Germany : International Cotton Conference to come in spring

The preparations for the 29.International Cotton Conference are in full swing. As in the former years the Bremen Cotton Exchange and the Fibre Institute Bremen expect many participants and a large attendance from various countries.
The Bremen conference is the most significant event worldwide regarding cotton testing, and furthermore one of the most important international venues for the cotton trade and the manufacturing industry.
The range of topics will include cotton trade and production as well as raw material properties, the harmonization of testing methods and cotton manufacturing.
During the conference in spring 2008, the current developments in Chinese cotton production, new varieties of long staple and extra long staple descriptions and new machines for the spinning preparation identifying and discharging polypropylene will be presented.
A panel discussion will be held with experts from the USA, India, Switzerland and Australia, amongst others, concerning the subject "Sustainability in Cotton Production", which is presently a very controversially debated issue.
