The Strategic Program of the Brazilian Textile Chain (Texbrasil Program) created by ABIT together with Apex-Brazil organizes the participation of three Brazilian companies on Prêt-à-Porter Paris fair, which will take place in Paris, France, from January 24 to 27, 2008.
The companies 1001 Retalhos (So Ethic), Clube de Estilo (Atmosphere) and Otez (Be Twin) show their debuts and exclusive products with the quality and personality of “From Brazil” products.
“Prêt-à-Porter is a fair that gathers good confections from all over the world and Brazil could not be left aside of this event. Our companies will show products with the Brazilian beauty and charisma”, says Rafael Cervone Netto, manager of Texbrasil Program.
According to Brasil Têxtil 2007 (Sector Report of Brazilian Textile Industry), made by IEMI (Instituto de Estudos e Marketing Industrial Ltda. – Institute of Industrial Studies and Marketing) with the institutional support of ABIT, Brazil has over 18 thousand factories specialized in clothing (information referring to 2006). The same segment employs over 1 million workers in the country.
From January to November 2007, Brazil exported US$ 2.12 billion in textile and confection products. Specifically, from the clothing sector, it was exported US$ 248 million. In this period, Brazil exported US$ 19 million in textile and confected products only to France.
