Russian Armed Forces will soon be seen flaunting new outfits, as the Ministry of Defence believes that it’s high time to upgrade the uniforms and make them trendier.
Valentin Yudaskin, whose clothes are appreciated world over, is designing these modern uniforms. He explained that the garments are chic, light and elegant, and very Russian. Young recruits should be at the cutting edge, they shouldn’t be deprived of anything and must be fashionable.
The current Russian military uniform was adopted in 1994 and has not changed so far. Now the time has come to hang up the furry hat and replace it with one pointier and sleeker. Jacket pockets are out, and shiny tassels are in, aquamarine has replaced olive colour. The red star is giving way to the two-headed eagle.
According to the ministry it is essential to realize that the uniform is very important to the army at all times – on the battlefield and at parades. The new uniforms will be rolled out to the regions and tested, because while they might have the flair they must also withstand some hefty wear and tear.
