Portugal : Textile and Clothing 2015 Project

Write: Hayward [2011-05-20]
ATP (Portuguese Textile and Clothing Association) and ANIVEC/APIV (Portuguese Textile and Clothing Industries Association) had their project “Textile and Clothing 2015: Strategies to Foster International Co-operation for the Portuguese Textile and Clothing Industry” homologated by ON – Operação Norte (North Operation) – Axe n. º 1 – Measure 1.4.
This Project aims at promoting the exchange of the experiences and internationalisation practices at an European level, allowing the textile and clothing industry located in the North of Portugal to access new international markets, as well as to promote a European co-operation network that can assure a wider representativeness of the southern European countries in the consultation and decision-making entities of the European and international textile and clothing industry.
We stress out the wide range of entities that integrate the monitoring commission, together with ATP and ANIVEC/APIV, such as CCDRN (North Regional Coordination and Development Commission), AICEP Global Portugal (Business Development Agency), CITEX (Vocational Training Centre for the Textile Industry), IAPMEI (SME’s and Innovation Support Institute) and CITEVE (Technological Centre for the Textile and Clothing Industries of Portugal).
“ATP - Associação Têxtil e Vestuário de Portugal” (Textile and Clothing Association of Portugal) is an employers’ association that groups around 730 companies from the entire Portuguese textile and clothing sector. Altogether, these companies are responsible for more than 60,000 jobs, with a turnover of 3,000 million Euros; two thirds of this value represents exports.
