A rare carpet valued at more than USD 1 million will be on display at DOMOTEX Middle East 2008, the only dedicated carpets and floor coverings exhibition in the MENA region being held at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre from May 25-27, 2008.
The hand-made, pure silk carpet, which is named Zohra, is part of the exhibition by Yazdani Corporation from Japan at the third edition of the annual international event.
Zohra originated from the city of Tabriz in Iran and features an intricate geometric design. The 8x5-metre carpet required over 40 million knots and took approximately 10 years to be completed in the middle of 1970.
Also to be showcased by Yazdani Corporation is a carpet named Faraji, which is valued at over USD 500,000 and considered one of the largest round-shaped carpet produced from pure silk; in addition to 34 other world-class carpets of different sizes and prices.
"Being one of the world's premier carpets and floor coverings exhibitions, DOMOTEX Middle East is pleased to showcase some of the world's most expensive designs.
Yazdani Corporation has prepared a very interesting exhibition highlighted by the Zohra and the Faraji along with other world-class carpets.
This will definitely raise the level of excitement and prestige surrounding this year's event," said Angela Schaschen, Managing Director, Deutsche Messe Dubai Branch – organisers of the event.
DOMOTEX Middle East has been the only dedicated floor coverings and carpet exhibition in the MENA region, making it the ideal platform for both regional and international market players to reinforce their presence in the highly lucrative Middle East markets.
The exhibition also serves as an excellent avenue for firms to launch new products and establish new distribution networks and business partners.
DOMOTEX Middle East 2008 will present a complete selection of handmade and machine-made carpets; textile and resilient floor coverings; parquet and wooden flooring; laminates; sports arena flooring; fibres, yarns and textiles; cleaning and application technologies; ceramic tiles; and natural stone and marble floorings.
