Airbus UK has chosen Lion Apparel to provide personal protective clothing to its firefighters at the company's Broughton facility.
The company has agreed to a TotalCare contract that will ensure that their structural aviation firefighting gear is of the highest quality and fit for purpose throughout its seven-year lifetime.
There are around 5,000 staff based at Broughton, where the company undertakes sub assembly and manufacture of large components, as well as final assembly and wing equipping for the whole Airbus fleet.
Rob Holmes, Watch Commander at Airbus UK said: "We were looking for a solution that would deliver the highest standard of protection for our firefighters while at the same time manage and assume liability for the maintenance and cleanliness of the PPE.
Lion demonstrated a clear understanding of our needs and their quality and control processes will ensure that our firefighters' PPE is always fit for purpose."
Mark Walker, Business Development Manager at Lion Apparel added: "We are delighted to have been awarded this contract and look forward to a successful partnership with Airbus UK for the years to come."
