A PUBLIC institution, the Shenzhen Residential Leasing Management and Service Center, said Wednesday payroll details of staff salaries were just a draft. The information has been widely circulated on the Internet.
The payroll details were posted on the Internet by a netizen called Chutian in a Shenzhen online forum Tuesday showing the average income for the center s staff was about 300,000 yuan (US$45,140) a year, much higher than many companies and government agencies.
Chutian said in his post that the list was from internal files at the center. There are 65 staff members at the center, including a regular staff of 63. The list contains detailed income information of 58 regular staff members, he said in the post.
The post was deleted Wednesday, but another netizen, identified by his Internet name Min, posted it on Tianya.com, one of the country s biggest online forums. This was also deleted but not before it caught public attention.
According to the list, each of the 58 staff members were paid more than 200,000 yuan a year. The highest individual annual salary was 688,706 yuan. Other payments or incentives were not included in the income details.
The monthly income included the basic salary and 12 subsidies, such as a performance subsidy. The basic salary was only 1,718 yuan and the extra money came from subsidies.
The other subsidies were very mysterious because some were paid more than 13,000 yuan a month and nobody knew what it was, a netizen, identified as Liangxiaowucai, said in the forum.
The center was administered by the city housing and construction bureau. It was a public institution responsible for leasing, maintaining and managing affordable housing, low-cost housing and government housing, the Daily Sunshine reported.
Although many employees said they had not yet heard of the list on the Internet, the paper found that several names on the list were the same names appearing on the center s official Web site.
The bureau said it would begin an immediate investigation.
Center representatives told a press conference Wednesday that the list was merely a draft plan which had been rejected and a new plan was being considered. (Wang Yuanyuan)
