It is reported that the lighting enterprises in Zhongshan with an export value of over 100 million yuan have reached 17. The competitive advantages and influence of the industrial cluster in China Lighting Capital are increasing. In 2010, the total value of electric light sources and lamps inspected for export reached 1.348 billion dollars, up by 37% compared to that of last year, which hit a record high. Export value of the above 17 enterprises reached 452 million dollars, accounting for one third of the total export value.
Last year, electric light sources and lamps were mainly exported to Europe, America, the Middle East, and ASEAN. Export to America reached 300 million dollars, up by 41.5%, which is of the highest increase among the four major export markets. With an export value of 325 million dollars, the EU market is the largest one for Zhongshan s electric light sources and lamps. The emerging markets grew rapidly with exports to African and Latin American markets rising by 107.8% and 78.6% respectively. The reviving Russian market is catching up and the export rose by 72.3%.
At present, the lighting industry in Zhongshan has huge market potential and maintains a good momentum of development with export increasing both in price and amount. It is expected that export of Zhongshan s electric light sources and lamps will keep a steady growth in 2011.
