Pharmacies closed
THE Bao an District Drug Administration had closed 400 drug stores whose licenses had expired, most of which were individually owned and franchise stores, the administration said Friday.
The administration stopped renewing their licenses to control the number of drug stores in the district.
Inspection channels
SHENZHEN Bay Checkpoint will open tourist inspection channels on the second floor of the inspection building between 8 a.m. and midnight Jan. 1 and 2, authorities said. This is expected to deal with a heavy flow of travelers during the New Year holidays between Jan. 1 and 3.
Tourist inspection channels are usually closed on normal days due to low passenger traffic.
Some 740,000 travelers crossed the border between Shenzhen and Hong Kong on Christmas, the frontier inspection station said yesterday.
