A VAGRANT was reunited with his family at an aid center in Bao an District after 20 years of lost contact.
The aid center found Wan Caihui in Duzhidu Square in Bao an during a search to help the homeless before a cold snap Dec. 16.
Wan s family in Shanxia Village, Dongshan County in Jiangxi Province learned Wan was in an aid center in Shenzhen on Wednesday.
Wan was shivering in 4 degrees Celsius when he was found. He didn t believe the aid center workers at first.
Workers served him a bowl of hot noodles and persuaded him to go to the aid center.
Due to his long years as a vagrant, he had difficulty speaking and had little memory.
After a night s rest, he told workers he could only remember he was from Jiangxi Province and his name was Wan Caihui.
He left home to find work in 1990 but couldn t remember where he had worked or lived.
I haven t spoken with anybody for years, he said.
With this scant information, the aid center contacted Wan s family Wednesday.
Wan s mother had gone blind and his father had died after Wan went missing.

He really is my brother, said Wan s sister, Wan Caimei. She was thrilled to see her brother neatly dressed.
The aid center gave Wan Caihui three suits of warm clothing and 1,000 yuan (US$151) for his fare home Saturday.
