The elevated section of Metro Line 3 will run 25 kilometers between Shuanglong, Longgang District, to Caopu, Luohu District and cover 16 stations.
The whole of Metro lines 2 and 3 will open in June next year.
Metro Line 5 from Qianhai Bay in Nanshan District to Huangbeiling in Luohu District will open for trial in March, according to the China Railway South Investment and Development Co., the construction contractor.
The Shenzhen transport commission planned to add 24 bus routes connecting Metro stations after the two new lines start operating.
Yesterday, the commission suspended the operation of five bus routes from Caopu Station on Metro Line 3 because of limited parking and safety reasons.
Because Line 3 won t be connected with Metro Line 1 at the end of the month as planned, passengers have to get off at the Caopu Station and take buses, the commission said. But parking for buses at Caopu Station is limited and won t satisfy the demand. Passengers could only be picked up at the roadside, which posed a danger to passengers and other buses. The road in the Buji Checkpoint area was often heavily congested.
