A ZEBRA crossing under the Bao an Flyover on Shenhui Expressway in Longgang District runs only halfway across the road ending at the central flower plantation.
Pedestrians had to walk across the plantation if they followed the zebra crossing to the road center, media reports said.
The crossing is at an exit from the flyover, which connects Shuiguan Expressway and Hengping Road.
Pedestrians are forced to wait on the flower beds because there were no traffic lights at the flyover exit and there was no safety island.
About 100 meters away there was another halfway zebra crossing, the reports said.
We asked the Metro Line 3 Co. to fix the problem but they haven t done anything yet, said an official with the Longgang district traffic authority identified by his surname Qi.
A Metro Line 3 Project Department manager said the zebra crossing would be corrected.
