Illegal buildings
CITY authorities received more than 5,000 complaints of illegal construction last year as a campaign was stepped up to crack down on illegal buildings, according to an annual work report by the land resources and housing commission. The commission set up a permanent task force to tackle the issue of illegal buildings and launched a hotline to handle public complaints.
Bus suspended
BUS services from the foot of Fenghuang Mountain to half way up the mountain were suspended because of roadworks on 1.8 kilometers of the mountain road. The bus service was launched in October 2008, to provide easy access to the mountain.
Road death
A MAN was knocked down and killed by a car as he was crossing Shenhui Road under a flyover in Buji Subdistrict on Monday morning. The car did not stop. Police are investigating.
