THE city s civil affairs authority had set aside 2 million yuan (US$302,115) from the public lottery fund to provide 2,630 free tickets for migrant workers returning home.
Migrant workers can participate in the radio program Pioneer 898 and text message to 106-2075-58 or call hotlines 2592-3037, 2592-3038 or 2592-3039 to book tickets on 60 buses to 17 provinces including Sichuan, Hunan, Hubei, Hainan, Jiangxi, Henan and Yunnan from tomorrow.
The buses will depart Shenzhen from Jan. 22 to 24. Those who have booked tickets can collect them between Jan. 15 and 17 at the Yinhu Bus Terminal, the Shenzhen Welfare Lottery Issuing and Circulation Center said yesterday.
Bookings are first-come-first-served for one person to book one ticket.
It is the fourth year the center has organized the program since 2007 and nearly 10,000 migrant workers had gone home free.
Lottery sales exceeded 2 billion yuan last year raising 600 million yuan for the public fund.
