A CHINESE-GERMAN donated his corneas Friday after his death at the age of 94.
Chen Jingyu was the first foreigner in Shenzhen to donate his corneas. He was also the sixth cornea donor in Shenzhen this year.
According to Chen s brother, Chen, a native of Zhejiang Province, moved to Germany in the 1950s to run a Chinese restaurant. Chen and his wife returned to China as tourists after China s reform and opening-up in the 1980s and decided to move to Shenzhen in the 1990s.
The family said the donation was small thing that wasn t worth reporting.
The corneas will be transplanted to two young patients.
