A police officer releases a python caught recently at a construction site in Nan ao Subdistrict in Longgang District. Workers at the construction site found the 2.3-meter python and suspected the hibernating reptile might have been awakened by a roaring excavator. Police and forest rangers later released the 14-kilogram State-protected animal at the foot of Qiniang Mountain.
