SHENZHEN is expected to have warm, sunny weather for the Spring Festival holdiays, Shenzhen Meteorological Observatory sources said yesterday.
Temperatures would range between 14 degrees Celsius and a maximum of 23 degrees Celsius in the coming seven days.
A cold front that had affected most of South China had weakened Sunday and temperatures would begin to climb to 10-18 degrees Celsius from today. The weather should be sunny for the whole week.
Fine weather is forecast for northern and northwestern Guangdong, with no sign of frost, but the observatory reminded drivers to update weather forecasts with mist and occasional showers expected from Feb. 7 to 9.
Shenzhen experienced six cold fronts in January with 18 cold days, 14 more than average. The coldest days since 1985 were recorded during the month with the average temperature at 12.1 degrees Celsius, 2.5 degrees Celsius lower than the annual average.
Nationally, the weather will be fine from today, but a cold front will affect northern and northwestern China between Sunday and Feb. 8.
