Landscape lighting
LANDSCAPE lighting along Qianhai Road and Houhai Boulevard, part of the landscaping project around the Shenzhen Bay Sports Center, will light up for a trial at the end of this month.
When the project is completed, more than 100 buildings near the sports center and a combined length of 15 kilometers of roads in the Houhai area will be illuminated.
Tanker overturns
A TANKER containing 19 tons of liquid nitrogen overturned near Tongle Checkpoint in Nanshan District on Sunday morning. The tanker driver sustained minor injuries, but there was no gas leak.
The tanker was towed away six hours after the incident. The cause is being investigated.
Kidnapper caught
A MAN was detained by police in Pingshan New Zone on Sunday afternoon after he tried to abduct a 5-year-old girl.
The girl was playing with other children when the suspect, who was not identified, picked her up and ran away. The girl shouted for help and the man covered her mouth with his hand.
An 8-year-old boy immediately told the girl s parents who called relatives to block all the entrances to Feixi Village. When police arrived, the suspect was surrounded by more than 100 people. Police are investigating.
