THE city s market supervision administration begins annual inspections of more than 200,000 Chinese and foreign companies today, the first time to abandon the use of paper publication material.
Before last year, all companies and organizations were subject to annual administrative inspections by submitting a series of required hard-copy written material to the administration and pay annual inspection fees. The administration decided last year to scrap the paper and annual inspection fees.
From today, all companies can apply for annual inspections online and all fees related to annual inspection would be canceled, the administration said yesterday.
In 2009, there were 230,030 Chinese companies and 23,097 foreign companies required to go through the annual inspections. By the end of June last year, nearly 95 percent of the Chinese companies had applied to drop hard-copy material for inspections while about 95 percent of the foreign firms have done so.
