THREE local entrepreneurs were honored with the 2010 Shenzhen Mayor s Award at a ceremony Monday.
Du Xuan, director of Shenzhen Kingdom Technology Co. Ltd., Yang Hong, CEO of Hangsheng Automotive Electronics Co. Ltd., and Chen Qingzhou, director and CEO of Haoyitong Technology Co. Ltd., were each awarded 1 million yuan (US$151,516) for their achievements in management and innovation in technology.
City Party chief Wang Rong said at the ceremony, which was hosted by Mayor Xu Qin, that the award was a significant recognition and encouragement to the entrepreneurs and companies as the city had made quality a top priority for future development.
Mayor Xu said in the annual government work report Jan. 16 that Shenzhen would target quality in the 12th Five-Year Program (2011-2015) following the great success of Shenzhen Speed over the past 30 years.
Evaluation criteria for the award an excellent performance system would be broadened to take in more sectors including health care, education, transport and public service, in the future. It would not be limited to the industrial and commercial areas, Wang said.
