A WOMAN had her left leg crushed after she fell off a bus running on Xiangmei Road on Monday.
The middle-aged woman, identified as Wu, is in a serious condition in hospital.
A police assistant on patrol near the Longtang Bus Station said the door of the No. 328 bus did not close properly when it left the bus stop. The door did not close properly and there were too many passengers on the bus, forcing the woman out, the unidentified officer told Thursday s Daily Sunshine.
Wu s left leg was run over by one of the back wheels because the driver failed to apply the brakes in time, the police assistant said.
The driver said he closed the door after all the passengers had boarded the bus. When there are too many passengers, the door can open automatically if it is pushed, he said.
The bus operator, Shenzhen West Lake Transport Co. Ltd., has paid 20,000 yuan (US$3,045) in advance for Wu s medical treatment. (SD News)
