Tollgate facelift
ABOUT 47 tollgates on 11 expressways will undergo a facelift by the end of June, sources from Shenzhen Municipal Transport Commission said yesterday. The government will subsidize 30 percent of the cost and the expressway operators will bear the rest.
New hukou policy
INVESTORS and employees in Shenzhen who have paid personal income taxes totaling 120,000 yuan (US$18,182) in three consecutive years are eligible to apply for Shenzhen hukou under a new policy adopted by the city government to attract talent.
Executives of listed companies can directly apply for hukou, according to the city s 2011 policy on introducing high-caliber professionals released Tuesday.
Fresh graduates with a bachelor s degree from China s 133 universities can have their hukou transferred to Shenzhen this year. Last year, the city only accepted graduates from 88 universities.
Enterprises and qualified individuals can apply for hukou starting from March 14, the city s human resources and social security bureau said Tuesday.
