TWELVE post-doctorate innovation practice bases were opened yesterday in Shenzhen by city government, State-owned enterprises and private companies to boost the development of post-doctorate resources.
Among the companies were Shenzhen Gas Corp., Wondershare Software Co., Longrise Technology International Co., Sunwin Intelligent Co. and Shenzhen Gentos Measurement & Control Co. mostly industry giants in the city.
Any domestic or foreign companies are welcome to seek support at the bases in terms of high-tech projects and high-demand tasks, the opening ceremony was told.
The innovation bases provide a platform for different channels to share post-doctorate resources, Wang Min, head of the city s labor resources and social security bureau, told the meeting.
There have been 52 post-doctorate innovation practice bases and 73 post-doctorate stations in the city since 1995. Initiators are industry giants and leaders, including Huawei, China Merchants Group, real-estate developer Vanke and medical equipment maker Mindray, while a large percentage are involved in high-tech industry.
To support the post-doctorate researchers, Shenzhen raised their living subsidy 60 percent to 80,000 yuan (US$12,183) a year per person last year. They are also entitled to a series of preferential policies.
