Blind walkways
AUTHORITIES in Futian and Nanshan districts will launch an inspection on blind walkways and take measures to fix all the inappropriately installed blind walkways by Tuesday.
Garbage treatment
A GARBAGE incinerator will be built in Liulian Community, Pingdi Subdistrict in Longgang District. Residents have been invited to submit their opinions on the project before April 1. The incinerator is expected to cover 377,476 square meters.
Illegal buildings
ILLEGAL constructions covering an area of 6,000 square meters were demolished in Xin an Subdistrict, Bao an District, on Wednesday.
The illegal constructions included bungalows and corrugated-iron sheds which had been leased and used as warehouses and scrap yards.
Heroic guards
SIX security guards in Shenzhen died while on duty last year, an award ceremony was told Wednesday.
The city s security guards helped police catch more than 55,000 crime suspects last year and helped recover more than 240 million yuan (US$37 million) in economic losses for the State, organizations, companies and individuals.
Nearly 6,000 security guards were awarded for their heroic deeds at Wednesday s meeting.
Blood donation
SOME 56 court police with Bao an District People s Court donated 10,800 milliliters of blood in more than three hours Wednesday morning, marking the fourth year that the court had been involved in voluntary blood donation.
