SHENZHEN will join forces with neighboring Dongguan and Huizhou to launch a 200-day campaign on 11 trunk roads including G107 and S359 to tackle illegal bus services.
Whistleblowers can call the city transport commission s hotlines at 8322-8000 and 8322-8111 to report such violations and authorities will offer a 10,000-yuan (US$1,522) reward to those whose reports are confirmed.
To ensure transport safety during the Universaide, the transport authority will launch at least two actions a week on illegal services of buses and private cars, the transport commission said in a release Tuesday.
As of Friday, the commission had received six reports over illegal bus services over the two hotlines. On Friday, a task force of the commission detained five drivers of buses with Guangxi-registered plates on the National Highway G107.
The law enforcement officers regularly check bus terminals in Longhua, Shajing, Songgang, Fuyong and neighboring areas to tackle the roots of the problem.
