NEARLY 100 expats and Chinese showed up for afternoon tea at the Jingshan Aerobics Room in Jingshan Villas, Shekou, on Friday.
The newcomers and senior tenants, most of them nationals of foreign countries such as the United States, Britain and Canada, mingled throughout what was a pleasant afternoon. They were invited by the Jingshan management team, who wanted to express appreciation to the tenants for their long-time support and provide them an opportunity to get to know each other.
During the party, the tenants also enjoyed a traditional Chinese paper-cutting show and a flower arrangement demonstration arranged by the Jingshan management team.
The most exciting part of the party was the lucky draw. The tenants picked a poker card first. If they found a matching poker card under a plant, they could take the plant right away.
The management center also introduced its staff to the new tenants.
The Jingshan Villas compound is home to nearly 800 expatriates from 30 countries and regions, many of them executives of foreign-invested companies in and around Shenzhen.
Currently, the management center has 34 staff and 27 of them are female employees, providing quality service to the tenants.
The center was granted the title of Outstanding Women s Team before International Women s Day by the Shenzhen Federation of Trade Unions and the city s women s federation for its excellent performance in 2010.
