THE number of complaints over the Internet-related services such as online shopping and gaming in 2010 reached 1,802 cases, ranking first among the complaints and accounting for 14.69 percent of the total.
The complaints over the online gaming have even increased by sevenfold to 1,210, compared to 146 complaints in 2009. In contrast, the number of online shopping complaints dropped by 9.22 percent to 128 complaints, Shenzhen Consumer Council said Monday, the eve of International Consumers Day.
The game players complained about the poor maintenance service of operators which had caused the loss of their data, virtual property and the tough and rude attitude in handling complaints for game users. Some game players questioned the practice of game operators who closed their accounts when the operators found the data was abnormal without considering if the users had used the external programs or not.
Gu Hongtao, the complaints department of the council, said the complaints over online shopping were mainly about shoddy products, exaggerated advertisements and poor after-sale service.
