A journalist with the Beijing-based CRI Online talks at a meeting with Shenzhen University students and other journalists from State media in the university campus in Nanshan District yesterday. More than 40 journalists from media organizations including Xinhuanet.com and the People s Daily Web site visited the executive office of the organizing committee of Shenzhen Universiade and Shenzhen University for updates about the preparation of the Games.
The Universiade will be held in Shenzhen in August. The city has vowed to stage an economical and environmentally friendly Games, which the organizing committee described as a unique Universiade. There will be no firework displays at the opening and closing ceremonies. Sun Yuchen
