Village protection
A PROTECTION proposal for Gaoling Village, a 400-year-old village in Dongshan Community in Nan ao, Longgang District, has been compiled by the city s urban planning and land resources commission. The ancient village became deserted due to neglect and lack of maintenance.
New car park
A NEW public car park with more than 1,100 spaces will be built near Meilin Checkpoint this year to service a station on Metro Line 4, a member of standing committee of the Shenzhen CPC Committee Zhang Siping said. It was planned to encourage residents in Bao an and Longgang districts to take public transport after driving to Meilin Checkpoint, where traffic is always heavily congested during rush hours.
Cash scam
POLICE recently arrested 17 people in raids on seven shops which were allegedly involved in illegally providing cash for credit card holders. Police claimed more than 100 million yuan (US$15.2 million) was involved. They were charging 1.5 percent commission.
