A TOTAL of 81 foreigners were seized for illegally entering the mainland, illegal employment and overstaying their visas.
Among them, 75 of them had illegally entered the country, the rest were either involved in illegal employment or had overstayed their visas.
In addition, police also seized 18 foreigners who hadn t reported their temporary addresses to police at the designated time.
Police checked more than 1,300 foreigners in the five-hour action Thursday at 110 companies, 360 rented apartments and places popular with foreigners.
Police said foreigners must register their temporary living places at local police stations within 24 hours after they arrive in Shenzhen.
Foreigners who overstay their visas will be fined 500 yuan (US$76) a day, but the total punishment fee can t exceed 5,000 yuan.
