THE cost of gas cylinders rose by between 2 and 3 yuan (US$0.30-0.46) Thursday.
Shenzhen s liquefied petroleum gas company attributed the hike to the increase in international oil prices in recent months, Shenzhen Economic Daily reported Thursday.
An 11.6-kilogram gas cylinder rose from 104 yuan to 106 yuan in Luohu, Futian and Nanshan districts while in other districts it was 105 yuan, the paper said.
The price of a 14.5-kilogram cylinder rose from 126 yuan to 129 yuan in Luohu, Futian and Nanshan districts while in other districts it was 128 yuan.
The delivery fee has been raised to 6 yuan.
Low-income earners are eligible for a monthly government allowance enabling them to buy a cylinder of gas for 20 yuan below market price.
