NINE innovative products from seven companies have won the Red Dot Design Award for 2011.
The products include two brands of patient monitoring equipment developed by Eden Equipment Co., the Cupid baby sound monitor by ZTE, an ultrasound diagnosis system by SonoScape and the F718 mobile phone developed by Sang Fei Consumer Mobile Communications Co. Ltd., according to a Shenzhen Special Zone Daily report.
Shenzhen LKK Design Co. Ltd. won two prizes for its Atuat, a multi-purpose monitor used for power-walking and a device that can instantly test for diabetes.
The company has won seven Red Dot prizes since it was established in 2005 and has become the most consistent winner among independent design companies in China
The Red Dot Design Award, which is known as the Oscars of designing, was founded in 1955 by the German Association of Design. It is the world s largest and most renowned design award, joining the iF Award in Germany and the IDEA Award in the United States as one of the world s three major design honors. (Han Ximin)
