Industrial expo
MORE than 1,000 companies will attend the Fourth Industrial Expo in Shenzhen from April 22 to 25, the Daily Sunshine said yesterday.
About 2,300 domestic and overseas buyers would attend the exhibition which features 3,000 booths of consumer electronic goods, automobile parts and other products.
Traffic pileup
A DRIVER was seriously injured while another driver suffered minor injuries in a 12-vehicle pileup in Bao an District on Tuesday. Traffic on national highway 107 was brought to a halt for an hour. No other casualties were reported. Traffic police are investigating.
Knife attack
A CLOTHES shop owner was in critical condition after being stabbed by four unknown men on Bao an North Road in Luohu District on Tuesday. The four men fled after the attack and are being hunted by police.
Pedestrian killed
A WOMAN was killed when she was knocked down by a car on Haoyong Road in Songgang Subdistrict on Tuesday. The driver, whose identity was not disclosed, was suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol and was detained by police for questioning. The woman, 21, from Guangxi, was on her way home after work. She was pronounced dead in hospital.
