Research donation
A 47-YEAR-OLD resident donated his remains to the Medical School at Shenzhen University for medical research Sunday after dying from a cerebral infarction.
It was the fifth donation of remains in Shenzhen this year and 32nd for the medical school since it was established.
Wedding fair
THE eighth Shenzhen wedding fair opened at the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center on Sunday.
The fair was initiated in 2006 and has become a stage for wedding exhibitions in southern China. It is scheduled to end today.
Breweries closed
POLICE closed two breweries producing beer without a license in Xixiang Subdistrict in Bao an District on Thursday, seizing 8,600 bottles of the brew worth more than 30,000 yuan (US$4,582).
Ear biter arrested
THE Longgang People s Procuratorate has approved the arrest of a man who allegedly bit off the ear of his colleague in a scuffle in January.
The suspect was drunk and thought his wallet had been stolen by the colleague.
Traffic accident
A TRAFFIC light failure led to a rear-end collision between two vehicles on Bao an Boulevard on Sunday morning.
Two men were injured but in a stable condition. The investigation is continuing.
