Chinese Textile Price Index Retreats in Latest Week

After rising five of the last six weeks, the main gauge of China's Keqiao textile index lost -0.96 points from last week to 96.93, the biggest decline in three months. Four of the five main components of the index declined from last week, pulling the main gauge lower. The raw material sub-index dropped -1.24 points this week, its biggest decline in eight weeks, dropping to 90.49, the lowest level since mid-May. After reaching its highest level in several months last week, the apparel fabric component gave up -0.21 points this week, sliding to 100.55. The home textiles sub-index saw the smallest change, slipping -0.2 points to 98.36 from its near-term high set last week. The grey fabric component remained the lone bullish aspect, rising 0.38 points to a near-term high of 101.96.
