An increased volume of Chinese ELS and colored cotton export offers are now in circulation, with much of this trading activity concentrated in Taiwan, Pakistan, Hong Kong and Japan. T137, 3.5 to 4.7 mike and 40 GPT minimum export offers are at 127.00 to 129.00 U.S. cents per pound, CIF, while T237 is being offered at 119.00 to 121.00 U.S. cents per pound, CIF. A mixture of colored and organic cotton is also being offered, which is available in small quantities and quite expensive. For example, organic green colored cotton is offered at 290.00 to 292.00 U.S. cents per pound, CIF, while non-organic green colored cotton is offered at 275.00 to 277.00 U.S. cents per pound. Dark and light brown colored cotton is also available but at cheaper prices. Sales of ELS styles are being noted but have not yet shown up in shipments. Only 866 tons of cotton were exported from China in July 2008.
